Containing Snuff. Giriama. Kenya. No.7. XI.I.1 Small brown container, made from a horn (buffalo horn?) Entirely covered with leather and plated with brass at the top. The receptacle, provided with a side handle, is connected by an iron chain to an ivory closure cap. Object mounted on base. Containers of this type, commonly called "snuff boxes" are very often hunting trophies which may contain snuff, but also other substances (gunpowder, herbs or medicinal powders, etc.).
