Pair of ankle bracelets. Maasai. Kenya. No 84. XI.E.17. Original list: "Maasai. Anklet. Leather, iron. Woman, girl" Pair of aluminum sleeves covered with thin strips of braided leather, superimposed, ending with fringes. Bracelets of this type were worn on the ankles by Maasai warriors. "Bracelets of small iron rings bound over leather bands. These bracelets may be worn by warriors who owing to their generosity are called N-gaminini. As many as sixty are sometimes worn by one man" (Ref.?).
