Earrings
Pair of earrings. Maasai. Samburu. Kenya. No. 60. X.EB.2. Original list: "Maasai, Samburu. Earring. Leather, beads, iron, aluminum. Woman, girl". Earrings in the shape of flattened pears, openwork, made from a strip of curved leather and wire entirely covered with small beads of multicolored glasses (green, red, white, blue, oranges). Larger, flat glass beads mark, at several points, the presence of tinkling iron pendants ending in medal; they also indicate the direction in which these jewels are worn on the ears. Earrings of this type were worn by women, in the upper part of the ear.
