Belt
Belt. Suk (Pokot). Turkana. Kenya. No 26. XIV.AC.3. Belt made from an assembly of long aluminum beads punctuated on both sides by round glass beads of red, pink and blue color. This belt has an attached wooden closure system (pin). The aluminum beads are reminiscent of traditional dik-dik bone beads (see Eugene C. Burt, Seattle Art Museum. 1985: 24). Belts of this type were worn by young girls (see "East suk girl" by J. Adamson. 1967: 85).
