Container Snuff Box. Karamajong, Turkana. Kenya. No 7. XIV.A.5. Original list: "Turkana. Snuff box. Leather, iron, cow horn. Man, elder, warrior" Long portable container made from a section of twisted animal horn, partially wrapped in leather and closed with a wooden stopper. The leather sheath has two iron handles through which an iron bracelet passes. Base object. A piece of adhesive tape stuck under the base mentions "SNAFF BOX KARAMAJUN" Containers of this type, commonly called "snuff box" were very often hunting trophies and prestigious objects that may contain snuff, but also of other substances such as gunpowder, herbs or medicinal powders.
